Wait so there's no cheesy English 80s/90s dancing at all this con? D8
I know at Kitacon a lot of people complained that there wasn't enough of it. It was the cheese that filled the floor. (Also we lacked Rickroll, it's like the most popular song to get everyone on the floor.)
Aww I was wanting cheese as well... D:

J-pop/anime music is all very well and good but nothing quite fills up the dance floor like good old cheesy 80s/90s music

I'm actually REALLY happy that most of the music I'm going to hear at Aya will be Japanese music and not cheesy English music. That's one of the main reasons for attending these parties and stuff at cons, right? Tongue

Feel free to get a group of friends together and head into town to find a club that plays 80s/90s cheese... shouldn't be too hard on a Saturday night! Smiley

This is a debate that's taken place on many convention forums many many times. AyaCon's position has been decided for a long time, and that's "no Western music at the discos". Complaining about it isn't going to make any difference, and besides, this thread is not the place for it. If you really must "debate" it, please do it elsewhere - thank you! Smiley

HOLD ON

If we're allowed Dschinghis Khan, then how about the classic "Moskau"?

The Berryz Koubou version is a Japanese-language version of the song covered by a Japanese group, therefore it fits just fine into the jpop/anime disco.
You'll probably notice that I am quite fond of Japanese cover versions of Western songs Smiley
