Grok Talks are common at computer programming conferences. Joe Curzon editor of Otaku News is keen to bring the concept along to anime fandom to see if it takes off.
The basic idea is sharing information. It's short. It's sweet. It's informal.
The format would allow anyone to talk about an anime / manga subject they'd wish to share for 10 minutes.
This will require volunteers from the convention to talk about something for 10 minutes. e.g.
- It could be how they discovered Ball Jointed Dolls.
- The basics of Pokemon Card Games.
- How to stitch costumes together quickly.
- A introduction / plug about a panel they're running later at the convention etc...
- Whatever the volunteers are willing to talk about.
It's informal, if you aren't interested you only need to wait for 10 minutes for something new.
