Over the last several years cosplay has become a huge part of conventions, and we have a lot planned to keep our cosplayers occupied. At the convention, any genre of costume is welcome from anime and games, comics and western culture, to extreme fashion and original designs and anything in between.
Here you will find all information regarding cosplay at Ayacon, from general information to the events running and their sign-up forms when they become available.
Firstly! Wondering what is or isn't acceptable in terms of your costume and prop for the convention? Consult the guidelines below!
Back by popular demand and running all three days of the convention, Cosplay HQ is the place for any cosplayer or anyone interested in cosplay to visit. With a main information desk to help with any of your cosplay questions, a fully stocked repair station, galleries, photoshoot areas and much more - this time we aim to be even bigger and better so we hope you all visit over the weekend! Come find us upstairs in the Rootes Building.
Are you a member of Cosplay Island? If so check out how you can take part in the Cosplay Island Gallery we'll have on display in HQ. Submissions will stay open until 31st May!
We always aim to run a large and varied number of cosplay themed events over the weekend. From the staple masquerade and cosplay competition, to new panels and workshops, even the most dedicated panel-goer will have their work cut out attending everything.
Although the large events such as the masquerade and competition are organised by the committee, we are lucky to have a huge amount of talented people attending AyaCon willing to share their knowledge in running panels and demonstrations. If you have a specific topic you'd love to cover or share with others, we'd love to hear from you in terms of organising a cosplay event.
Submission forms for events will be open closer to the start of 2013, but until then please feel free to discuss your ideas over in the forum!
Held the Saturday evening and the main cosplay event of the weekend, the masquerade never fails to draw in the crowds. Come and show off your best costume, the entire stage is yours!

Running across the weekend, this is your opportunity to impress our hand-picked judges and compete with other cosplayers for a chance of an award for your creation.
Back once again, your chance to take the spotlight and entertain the rest of the Ayacon attendees, either by yourself or in a group. Follow the links below for more information, or to sign up!
