We're very pleased to announce the total amounts donated to charity from the various convention charity events and collection. A massive thank you is due to everyone who kindly donated, resulting in a fantastic donation of £4305.68 to the British Heart Foundation and £160.00 to the Japanese Red Cross.

As part of your registration for AyaCon you will receive a copy of our conbook at the event. This is meant to be a collection of articles and creative works from the attendees brought together to create a memento of the convention.
So for this to work we need you guys to contribute your best work to fill out the book.
The 2009 book was themed around 'Japanese culture over the years', and so for this time it's going to be loosely themed around 'the future'. So that's not just about sci-fi but anything about where you think gaming, cosplay, conventions, anime, manga, etc... will be in years to come.
The most obvious things for you to submit are artwork, short manga, feature articles on topics you're passionate about and short fiction. We'll be needing lots of those. However don't feel limited by that, as I'd love to see cardboard cut out dolls, puzzles games, favourite anime themed cocktails. We're interested in anything weird and wonderful that will make the book great.
Like 2009 we want this to be a really special book. So rather than asking you just to send in random things you've done we'd prefer if you contacted us first with your idea so we can just check it's going to fit in and not overlap what anyone else is doing.
