AyaCon is a weekend long Japanese culture convention. Featuring a range of events and guests revolving around anime, manga, video games, music and all parts of Japanese culture.
First held in Birmingham back in 1998, AyaCon is one of the UK's longest running Japanese cultural conventions. AyaCon 2011 will be our 7th event and as always we'll be attempting to raise the bar and bring something bigger and more impressive than has ever been seen before.
Highlights of our 2009 event included:
- A 2 hour concert by Japanese singer/voice actress Haruko Momoi
- Humorous panels by American voice actor/film maker Matt Mercer
- Cosplay workshops by costume and makeup artist JoEllen Elam
- An anime and gaming themed Piano concert
- A variety show including a Taiko drumming demonstration
- 3 nights of evening parties along with karaoke and a pub quiz
- A huge array of fan run workshops and panels
- Dedicated rooms for video games, cosplay, and artists
- Multiple video screening rooms
- A huge dealer room selling all kinds of merchandise
